Miguel Knochel, MD is no longer with Canyon View Pediatrics.
He recently sent a letter to his patients explaining his departure. See below…
Dear Patients and Families,
Thank you for allowing me to be your pediatrician. I have really enjoyed living in beautiful south Utah County, and helping parents to have healthy and happy kids. After June 1st, 2016, I will be moving to Salt Lake County to be closer to family. I will leave Canyon View Pediatrics on June 1st, after which I will only take care of hospitalized children, both at Primary Children’s Hospital, and as the medical director of the Primary Children’s Unit at Riverton Hospital.
Jennifer Menon, MD will take over the Payson office of Canyon View Pediatrics in June. She was trained at Primary Children’s Hospital just as I was, and she is a brilliant and kind doctor. In fact, I bring my own kids to her for their well child checks. She is skilled in the medical care of newborns through teens, including children with complex conditions, and the whole range of pediatric care. In addition to these skills, she has a special interest in helping children who are struggling with their weight, helping them to develop healthy habits, exercise, and good nutrition.
In addition to Dr. Menon in Payson, we have two (soon to be three) board certified pediatricians at our Spanish Fork location: John Bennett, MD and Rich Paxton, MD. Patrick McVey, MD, another experienced board-certified pediatrician, will join them starting in July 2016. He is currently the pediatrician for a US Naval base, and he teaches many of the classes that pediatricians must take to keep up to date on skills such as resuscitating a newborn, and stabilizing a critically ill child. I have great confidence in Dr. McVey.
Again, thank you for the privilege of being your pediatrician. I will truly miss this community, my patients, the dream team of pediatricians at Canyon View Pediatrics, my excellent obstetrics and family practice colleagues in Canyon View Medical Group, my assistants and office staff, as well as the staff, nurses, and doctors at Mountain View Hospital and Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. I hope that your medical home will continue to be Canyon View Pediatrics in Payson and Spanish Fork.
Dr. Menon will be expanding her office hours to five days a week from three to better serve her patients. Please visit CanyonViewPediatrics.com/blog/ to see a video to my patients and to learn more about Dr. Menon.
