I’m new to Canyon View Medical Group and am excited and delighted to be accepting new patients ages 0 through 18.
I grew up in Massachusetts and have been a science fanatic my whole life. In high school I received the Rensselaer Medal for Excellence in Science and Math which provided funding for me to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. I graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Physics and Biology with a minor in Astrobiology. During college I realized my greatest passion would be to help children through my love of science. This led me to Medical School at the University of Massachusetts, then pediatric residency at Primary Children’s Hospital.
During my residency I discovered that I love working with adolescent females, as I can understand first-hand the medical concerns that plague the mind and body of these growing girls. I feel that empowering girls at a young age to take control of their health will result in better health as an adult, and avoid chronic adult diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease. I became so interested in nutrition and exercise that I found myself preparing for a women’s bodybuilding competition, which I successfully competed in and placed fourth in my novice class!
