Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) for Children

  • Do not use with other cold/cough medications other than Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen.
  • We do not recommend Benadryl combined with a decongestant.
  • Most commonly used during illness for sleep.
  • Do not use more than every 6 hours or as directed by your pediatrician.
  • Benadryl should not be given if the child has marked decreased activity, lethargy, or appears ill.  If your child has these symptoms, please contact your pediatrician.
